The Cape Girardeau County Extension Center in Jackson will present a 10-week, physical-activity program in 2014 that is designed to get people up and moving during the winter.

According to a news release issued by the extension center, the "Stay Strong, Stay Healthy" program is scheduled for one hour each week at the extension center, from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 13, 21 and 27; Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24; and March 3, 10 and

The release said "Stay Strong, Stay Healthy" is built on simple, strength-building exercises that will improve balance, health and state of mind. A $25 fee will apply for the program, and weights will be provided. Preregistration is required by today, and assessment of balance and flexibility will be conducted at the first session.
