MINER, Mo. -- Thanks to a tip, a Cape Girardeau man is in jail on charges related to counterfeit clothing, according to Tom Mitchell, Miner police chief.
The Miner Police Department, acting on an anonymous tip, stopped a white mini-van at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday for investigation.
The driver gave consent to search to officers, who discovered a large amount of counterfeit clothing and sunglasses in several boxes.
Between the van and a second vehicle, more than 575 counterfeit items were confiscated by authorities.
The value of the items is not known, according to Mitchell.
Facing a charge of possession of counterfeit clothing on a Scott County warrant, Bob Ligonis, 51, of Cape Girardeau remains in custody. Bond is set for $2,500.
