CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Community Counseling Center has scheduled educational activities for April, beginning with an Active Parenting class on Wednesday.
The parenting class will meet once a week for five weeks. Staff clinician Linda Fulton will lead the program.
Beginning Thursday, Barbara Barklage will conduct a five-week assertiveness training class. Classes will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Also scheduled for Thursday is a presentation entitled "Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse." Presenters Rondi Rork and Barbara Morgan will give information for caregivers of children who have been sexually abused and for adult survivors dealing with the effects of abuse.
On April 17, Claire Lafoon will address the topic of body image with a presentation called "Making Peace with Your Body."
Both presentations are scheduled for from 6:30-8 p.m. and are free.
