COUNCIL WILL HONOR FOSTER PARENTS AT THURSDAY EVENT

A banquet honoring the county's foster parents will be held Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. The banquet, hosted by the Cape Girardeau County Council on Child Abuse, begins at 6:30 p.m.

Keynote speaker will be Terry Pardeck, chair of the social work department at Southeast Missouri State University. The dinner is being paid for by the Cape Girardeau Kiwanis.

Gifts will be presented to each foster parent and door prizes will be awarded to other guests. For more information on becoming a foster parent, call the Division of Family Services at 339-5800.
