On a split 7-to-2 vote, the council approved the ordinance providing regulations and licensing requirements for adult entertainment, which are designed to reduce the adverse secondary effects of such businesses and setting forth penalties for violations.

With passage of the ordinance the city's only adult entertainment business, the Viking Club, has 90 days during which to either discontinue adult entertainment or to come into compliance with the ordinance.
