Completed deal includes Perry County sand mine

FTS International announced Friday it closed the sale of its proppant business and related assets to Fairmount Minerals, according to a news release from FTS International spokeswoman Pam Percival.

FTS International has a long-term proppant supply agreement with Fairmount to provide proppant for FTS International's natural-gas well customers, the release said.

FTS International is Texas-based provider of well-completion services.

The release said FTS International intends to use the proceeds from the sale to reduce its debt. Terms of the sale were not being disclosed.

FTS International in June announced the silica sand mine and processing plant in Perry County, Mo., would idle its operations after the sale to Fairmount Minerals because of "ongoing litigation with surrounding landowners and the potentially lengthy permitting process in Missouri" for operations of its type.
