Lives in: Cape Girardeau.
Family: Wife, Glinda; five sons, Michael II, 33, William, 29, Johnathan, 19, Daniel, 17, Ransom, 6.
Job: Retired, but I'm busier now than when I was working. I volunteer for the Indian Center.
What do you like most about the area? I was born and raised here; this is my homeland. My ancestry goes back to before the formation of Cape Girardeau. This is the heart of Cherokee country.
Favorite food: All of it ... too much of it.
Favorite TV show: "Everybody Loves Raymond."
Best advice: Research the old ways that worked best for your ancestors and try to rekindle their spirit to make this country what it could be.
Person you most admire: My father, Paul, now deceased.
What would you do if you won the lottery? Pay off bills, remodel my old place on Broadway and invest in property.
Pet peeve: I'm organized and like everything in its place, but I live in a family that doesn't operate that way.
