Conservation photog talks at Nature Center

Missouri Department of Conservation's Conservationist magazine photographer, Noppadol Paothong, will share stories from the field and insightful photography tips from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nature Center at North County Park. Attendees can enjoy coffee and refreshments while they get to know the man behind the lens. Call the Nature Center at 290-5218 to register for the "Conservation Cafe."

Another fund-raiser for Jacob Coleman

A second fund-raiser for Jacob Coleman of Cape Girardeau, a 5-year-old boy with leukemia, will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday at Muddy Waters, Highway 177 in Egypt Mills. The John D. Hale Band will be featured and proceeds from the admission charge will help pay for Coleman's outstanding medical bills. For more information, call 803-9446 or 334-7811.

Boys and Girls Club holds auction, dance

The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Girardeau will hold its 4th annual auction and dance, "Reaching for the Stars," at 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838. There will be a silent and live auction, appetizers and dance to follow. Reserve tickets by calling the club at 335-7141.
