Cape's water distribution system is improving
Improvements in the City of Cape Girardeau water distribution system are showing up during the Cape Girardeau Fire Department's current hydrant testing program.
This program will meet the requirements set by Insurance Services Office (ISO) in the "Grading Schedule for Municipal Fire Protection." ISO provides the fire service rating for the City of Cape Girardeau. The city's class four status is a rating enjoyed by only a handful of cities in Missouri outside of St. Louis and Kansas City.
Because of the large water flow required for these tests, sediment may be stirred up and cause water to appear cloudy. This is a temporary situation and poses no health risks. Allowing water to flow from the faucet until it clears.
Any resident with questions may call the Water Division, Alliance Water Resources at 335-1557.

Yard sale time is here again and the Jackson Police Department would like to remind residents that anyone holding a yard sale must contact the police department and provide the following information: name, address and telephone number, number of signs being placed and their location. Five signs is the maximum.
Yard sale signs cannot be attached to any utility or sign pole. All signs must be removed when the sale is over.
