Tickets available for Busch Southeast Night
Scheduled for Saturday, June 25, Southeast Night at Busch Stadium 2005 will feature the St. Louis Cardinals taking on the Pittsburg Pirates. The event is sponsored by the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association. Tickets may be reserved by calling 651-2259. Ticket order forms are available in the Southeast Alumni Office.
Grand opening proceeds to benefit KRCC
Chiropractor Dr. Matt Holstein will hold a grand opening Wednesday at 274 N. Ranney St., Sikeston, Mo. All proceeds from that day will benefit the Kenny Rogers Children's Center. For more information call (573) 471-1396.
Initiative developed to reduce traffic fatalities
The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety has developed a more effective plan to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries in Southeast Missouri. An informational and training meeting is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at the Raudmont Inn (formerly the Ramada Inn) at Interstate 55 Exit 67, Sikeston, Mo. Lunch will be provided. St. Joseph plans euchre tournament April 30
St. Joseph Catholic Schools in Scott City will hold a euchre tournament April 30 with registration and serving beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the 7:30 p.m. tournament. Ham and beans, chicken noodle soup and snacks will be provided throughout the evening.
Boys and Girls Clubs schedule benefit auction
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Cape Girardeau is planning its second annual benefit auction, "Reaching for the Stars," for May 6 at Southeast Missouri State University Center Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Silent auction begins at 7 p.m.; live auction by Barks Auction Service follows. KFVS12's Mike Shain will be host of the event. Special performances include Central High School's Hip Hop Dance Club and music by Jerry Ford's Dixieland Band. For tickets, call the Boys and Girls Clubs at 335-7141.
United Way charity golf tournament set for June 6
The United Way of Southeast Missouri will hold its 18th annual charity golf tournament June 6 at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. Lunch will be served at noon and tee time is at 1 p.m. The format is a four-person scramble, handicapped (men and women). Entries must be in by May 20. Fee includes cart, green fees, lunch and prizes. Call the United Way at 334-9634 for more information.
