The Domestic Violence Task Force will meet today at the VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau. Lunch at 11:30 a.m. may be ordered from the menu. Safe at Home training will begin at noon. The goal of the Safe at Home program is to help survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault or stalking, who have relocated or are about to relocate, in their effort to keep their assailants from finding them. Information and training for those interested in becoming applicant assistants for the Safe at Home program will be given. For more information, call Betty Brown, court advocate for the Safe House, at 335-7745. The meeting is open to the public.

March for Babies kickoff rescheduled for today

The kickoff meeting for Cape Girardeau's March for Babies, the March of Dimes fundraising event that benefits all babies has been rescheduled for noon today at Montgomery Bank, 2027 Broadway. A meal will be catered by Outback Steakhouse. Register by visiting www.walkamerica.org or www.marchforbabies.org, calling 800-525-9255 or 651-6033 or picking up forms at Kmart or Famous Footwear.

Scott County Women in Agriculture to meet

BENTON, Mo. -- The Scott County Women in Agriculture will meet at 7 p.m. March 6 at the USDA office on Highway 77 in Benton. The Scott County Health Department will present a program on "Medical Updates on Immunizations for Adults." The meeting is open to the public. All women are invited. Bingo night will support Jackson students

A family-friendly bingo bonanza will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 7 in the Jackson Junior High cafeteria. It is sponsored by the Jackson Junior High Supporting Our School group and THRIVE. SOS is dedicated to building developmental assets, including a caring school climate and creative activities, at the junior high. Proceeds from this event will be used to send SOS members to Minneapolis for the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Conference in November. Meal deals with included bingo cards are available in two prices.
