Church sponsors benefit of Lutrell family of Jackson

To aid in the replacement of the Lutrell family's household needs which were destroyed in a blaze on Dec. 2, First Free Will Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, 2919 Kage Rd., is sponsoring a gospel singing benefit beginning with a chicken and dumplings supper at 5 p.m. Saturday. Singing starts at 6:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted. A free-will offering will be taken during the performance. Featured groups include Rose of Sharon, Reflections, The Grant Family and the bluegrass sound of The Happy Four. For additional information call pastor John Rhodes at 334-8461.

Radio racers on the track in Scott Ciy every Sunday

SEMO Scale Auto Racers offers radio-controlled car and truck racing every Sunday at 1 p.m. next door to Midtown Cafe on Main Street in Scott City. Spectators can watch for free, but there is a fee for novice and regular classes.
