American Legion makes plans for Friday dances

A public dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Jackson every Friday during the month of January, as well as on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The hall is located one block north of the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse. Entertainment will be provided by Country Touch band. The cost is $5 per person.

A meeting of the Parents Without Partners organization will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. The program will be "How to Find Your Soul Mate."

There will be an orientation for new members. This meeting is open to the public.

Parents Without Partners has scheduled a singles dance at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 at the VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau. Entertainment will be provided by Charlie's Music Review. This event is open to the public.

On Jan. 16, an orientation for prospective members will be held at 7 p.m. at the Dairy Queen located at 31 S. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
