A yard sale to benefit the Women's Safe House, SEMO Network Against Sexual Violence and the Cape Girardeau Police Department will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 213 N. Russell St., Jackson. The sale starts at 6:30 a.m. each day. Items for sale include donations from 23 families and baked goods.

Prescription drug forum set for Wednesday

A Medicare prescription drug benefit forum will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the public library, 318 N. Main St. in Poplar Bluff. The forum is sponsored by Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging and AARP.

Phone support helps MS sufferers deal with heat

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society introduced a client program, "Beat the Heat Phone Support Group" to be held Thursdays in July. Designed to help people with multiple sclerosis stay cool in the hot summer months, the group is led by Mary Eschmann, counselor and individual with multiple sclerosis. Rally supports Kenny Rogers Children's Center

The Kenny Rogers Children's Center recently received a $500 donation from the Bootheel Vendettas, which raised the funds with a rally.
