St. John's will serve kettle beef in Pocahontas

St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas will begin serving a kettle beef dinner at 3 p.m. Sunday. Side dishes are mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, slaw, carrot salad and dessert. Carry-outs will be available.

St. Anthony's Parish to hold spring dinner

St. Anthony's Parish will hold an all-you-can-eat dinner featuring kettle beef, chicken and dumplings and dressing with all the trimmings from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 7 at Glennon, Mo. Drinks and desserts are included. Children under 5 eat free.

Salvation Army serves Meals with Friends

The Salvation Army, located at 701 Good Hope, Cape Girardeau, will be serving nutritious meals to anyone interested at no cost from Monday to Friday. Cake or pie is the daily dessert choice. Today's menu includes nachos, refried beans, pears; Tuesday is goulash, green beans, applesauce, biscuits and butter; Wednesday is turkey salad sandwiches, potato chips, peaches; Thursday is minestrone soup or ham and beans, mixed vegetables, jello with fruit, cornbread and butter; Friday is hot dogs with chili, tater tots, mixed fruit.
