The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a steak night from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the VFW, 1049 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau. The public is invited.

St. Joseph K of C holding fry to benefit schools

The annual fish and chicken fry will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 16 to March 30 at St. Joseph Knights of Columbus, U.S. 61, Scott City. The meal will include fish, chicken, hush puppies, potato wedges, coleslaw, baked beans, tea, lemonade and coffee. The proceeds from the events will benefit St. Ambrose, St. Joseph, St. Augustine and St. Denis schools and St. Jude. Children under 6 eat free. Reduced price for children under 12.

Kettle beef served at Marble Hill church

The First United Methodist Church on Highway 34 in Marble Hill, Mo., will hold an all-you-can-eat kettle beef dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 16. The menu for the dinner is kettle beef, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, hot rolls and dessert. For more information, call (573) 238-5012.
