Lenten dinner by Elks benefits local students

All-you-can-eat buffet-style catfish dinners will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays from Feb. 11 to March 25 at Chaffee Elks Lodge, 120 E. Yoakum St., Chaffee. The meal includes fresh catfish, fried chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, hush puppies and home-style fries. Children 5 and under may eat free. Carryouts and fish by the pound will be available. Proceeds will benefit local organizations and the Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810 scholarship fund.

Sam's Club holds farmers appreciation breakfast

The eighth annual Farmers Appreciation Breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Feb. 24 at Sam's Club, 232 Shirley Drive, Cape Girardeau. Along with enjoying breakfast, participants can shop before the club is open and visit with local farmers. For more information, call 334-8484.
