The menu for Monday includes ham and beans, stewed tomatoes, jello with fruit, cornbread and butter, cake or pie; Tuesday, tacos or nachos, refried beans, lettuce/tomatoes, pears, cake or pie; Wednesday, beef stew, green beans, mixed fruit, bread and butter, cake or pie; Thursday, turkey and noodles, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, rolls and butter, cake or pie; Oct. 29, tuna salad sandwiches, potato chips, peaches, cake or pie.
Chicken noodle dinner dished out in Scott City
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday a chili chicken noodle dinner will be served at Broadway United Methodist Church, Broadway and Lincoln Drive in Scott City. Children under 5 may eat free. Drink and dessert are included.
Fall festival in Whitewater includes chili, soup
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30, a fall festival featuring chili or soup, desserts, and drinks will be held at Whitewater Methodist Church in Whitewater. Children under 6 eat free. Sponsored by the United Methodist Women. A country store will feature homemade bread, jellies, pies and cakes.
Hay rides, chili planned at Jackson church
From 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30, the Jackson Church of the Nazarene, on Old Toll Road just west of Beussink Bros. Cabinet Shop, will hold a chili supper. Hay wagon rides will be given and everyone is welcome to attend.
Perkins fire department sponsoring barbeque
The Perkins Volunteer Fire Department's 21st Annual Barbeque will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Oct. 31. Children under 6 can eat free. A deer rifle will be given away.
Whole hog sausage supper planned in Pocahontas
The annual family-style pork sausage supper with all the trimmings, home baked bread and coffee cake will be served from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. Meal is offered family style and a country store will also be available.
