Dinner to benefit Operation Troop Support
From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Operation Troop Support will hold a spaghetti dinner at the VFW Post 3838 Hall, 1049 N. Kingshighway. Menu includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, coffee or tea. All funds raised go strictly for sending care packages.
The Jackson Senior Center Foundation will sponsor a buffet-style meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, at 2690 Traveler's Way, Jackson (just off East Main Street across from Dr. Siemer's new office). Carryouts will be available. Menu includes kettle-cooked beef, baked ham, mashed potatoes and more. Children under 5 eat free. Matching funds provided by Thrivent Financial Cape Girardeau Chapter 30281.
A chili and stew supper will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at St. John's United Church, two and a half miles west of Fruitland on Route FF. There will be a country store.
Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas will hold its family-style annual pork sausage supper with all the trimmings from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30. Home-baked bread and coffeecake are on the menu. There will be a country store.
The Perkins Volunteer Fire Department will hold its all-you-can-eat 22nd annual dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 30. Children under 6 eat free.
St. Joseph of Apple Creek will hold its fall festival and dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 6. The buffet-style menu includes pork sausage, backbone and sauerkraut, and chicken and dumplings with all the trimmings. There will be a country store.
