CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Community Counseling Center Foundation, 402 S. Silver Springs Road, Cape Girardeau, is holding a Sustaining Membership Drive in its five-county service area.

The Community Counseling Center, which covers Perry, Ste. Genevieve, Madison, Bollinger and Cape Girardeau counties, is a not-for-profit provider of mental health care. Mental illness is a disease that can affect anyone and can lead to numerous other medical problems.

By joining the Membership Program of the Community Counseling Center Foundation now in process, individuals or businesses will be assisting in helping people receive the service they need, plus aiding in providing educational and preventive programs.

Many clients state that they would not be here today if it had not been for the care, which they received from the Community Counseling Center. The Community Counseling Center is where anyone in need can receive help and understanding. Fortunately, people with mental and emotional problems can obtain professional services at facilities in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Ste. Genevieve, Jackson, Ste. Genevieve, Perryville, Marble Hill and Fredericktown.

The Sustaining Membership Program has three classes in giving with various benefits from the donation to the Foundation. Donations of $25 are included as a member in the Membership Giving Program. Donations of $100 are included in the Partnership Giving Program and donations of $200 or more are classed as Investors' and can choose from a variety of investment options for their gift.

For the year 2000, Investors will receive a limited edition color print of a beautiful painting by local artist Herb Wickham. Also, the Boehme-Hinni Society provides recognition of cumulative gifts exceeding $1,000. All funds collected are utilized to help equip the Community Counseling Center Facilities to treat clients in the five county area.

This is the first time that the Foundation has held a membership drive and will be held annually. The Foundation was formed in 1984. Chairman for the Sustaining Membership Drive is Tim Schwent. Please call Community Counseling Center at 573-334-1100 for more information.
