Mothers of Preschoolers to hold meet and greet
The Jackson Mothers of Preschoolers group will have a meet and greet at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. The nondenominational, religion-based organization seeks to provide support to mothers of young children, using the children as a common denominator.

Jackson Hosiery Mill reunion set for Aug. 25
The Jackson Hosiery Mill annual reunion will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 25 at Delmonico's in Jackson. Any former employee or spouse of a former employee is invited to attend. An attendance prize will be given.
Educator open house to be held Friday
An open house for area teachers allows them to learn what the Missouri Department of Conservation offers. Posters and habitat packs will be available. Learn about possible field trip options and outdoor classroom grants. The open house is Friday at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center for adults 18 and older.
Mudpuppies: Butterfly Flutter set for Saturday
Children ages 3 to 6 can learn about different kinds of caterpillars and how they grow into beautiful butterflies. Learn about where they live and feed and try to catch some yourself. Mudpuppies: Butterfly Flutter will be at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center.
Program will identify edible plants in Missouri
A program will show how to identify a few common edible plants found in rural Missouri and explore different techniques for drying plants to use as teas or spices. The program, for ages 12 and older, will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center.
Presentation on multiple sclerosis set for Aug. 18
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Gateway Area Chapter, will sponsor "Research on the Road," a program on new information about MS, from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 18. The program will be presented by Dr. Robert Naismith of the John L. Trotter MS Center in St. Louis. The presentation will be at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technical Center. There is a charge.
