US Bancorp Foundation makes donation
US Banks in Cape Girardeau and Jackson presented a donation to Teen Challenge and Eagle Ridge Christian School Inc. from US Bancorp Foundation. Each received $500.
The Scott County Women in Agriculture will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the USDA Office on Highway 77 in Benton, Mo. Connie Gardner will speak to the group about medicinal oils. All women are invited. A fund-raiser youth dance for sixth- to eighth-graders will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 16 at the American Legion Hall in Jackson. Concessions will be available. The Friends of the Cape Girardeau Public Library will hold their annual book sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Friends members are invited to a special preview from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday. Membership will be available at the event. All proceeds benefit special library projects sponsored by the Friends Foundation.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, the Hi-Cot'n Dance Club will sponsor a public dance to "break in" the new wood floor at the Cape Girardeau American Legion Post 63, 2731 Thomas Drive. For more information, call Jeremy at 579-0019.
Centenary United Methodist Church will have a program on Centenary's history at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 24 at the church. Speaker is Steve Limbaugh Jr., guest organist is Dr. Dan Cotner, and director and soloist is Jonathan Stewart. The event is open to the public.
