Jackson Municipal Band's
final concert
The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its final weekly concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at the Gazebo on Jackson's Courthouse Lawn. Special guests, Flood Plain, will deliver familiar music including classic rock, pop and country. The band's performance includes "Phantom of the Opera," "Hootenanny" and several popular marches. Honking of car horns is an acceptable part of the uptown concerts. A special treat for patrons at the concert.
Nature Center programs
All ages will learn how Native Americans utilized plants and animals to make tools at Discovery Station held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; at 10 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 turtle time will be held for 3 to 6 year olds. Registration required for turtle program. Call 290-5218.
Trivia night at New
McKendree South Campus
The New McKendree UMC Trivia Night Competition will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, August 20 at the South Campus location, 1770 S. Hope St., Jackson. Enter individually or as a team (maximum eight per team) by calling 243-8487. Complimentary snacks and drinks, a dessert auction, and team prizes. There is an entry fee.
Customer service seminar
Practical methods on how to access customer satisfaction, meet customer expectations and deliver service to an irate, complacent, aggressive or satisfied customer will be taught at a seminar held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Cape County University of Mo.
