Show Me Center holds beauty pageant

The Show Me Center will present America's Cover Miss and Cover Boy preliminary beauty pageant at 1 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Show Me Center. Age divisions include girls, newborn to age 25; boys, newborn to three years old. All contestants will model in back-to-school attire. Meals With Friends announces week's menu

The Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope St., will be serving Meals With Friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today through Friday. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a hot, nutritious meal in a cool, friendly atmosphere at no cost. Cake or pie is the daily dessert. Monday's menu is spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans, bread and butter; Tuesday, turkey with egg noodles, peas, mixed fruit, bread and butter; Wednesday, tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, peaches; Thursday, ham, sweet potatoes/yams, corn, applesauce, bread and butter; Friday, tuna sandwiches, chips, peaches.
