Family gathers to celebrate woman's 90th birthday

Ruth Jauch of Cape Girardeau celebrated her 90th birthday on June 18 at Arena Park. About 70 family members and friends from Missouri, Kansas, Florida and California gathered to mark her special day.

Cape Girardeau County Chapter of AARP meets today

The Cape Girardeau County AARP Chapter 4041 will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church at Broadway and Caruthers Avenue. The program, presented by Grace Hoover, is "Cruisin' Through New Zealand." There will be a drawing for a door prize.

Program on Alzheimer's disease planned at Senior Center

How to determine whether a person has Alzheimer's disease or memory loss from old age will be addressed from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Cape Giradeau Senior Center. The program will provide a thorough overview of memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, with information about research, treatments and getting a diagnosis.
