The annual Eakins family picnic will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Capaha Park Shelter 1 in Cape Girardeau. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish.
Riverside library begins summer reading club
The Riverside Regional Library in Jackson will open registration for its summer reading club June 1. The club is open to children from preschool age to young adults. Participants will receive prize packets based on the number of books they read throughout the summer. The Jackson program will include performances by a magician and a puppet show. Relay For Life team sets horseshoe tournament
Team members on the Scott County American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will hold a horseshoe tournament at 8 p.m. June 4 at Complex Lake during the relay. Participants must be at least 16 years old to compete.
June 5 yard sale benefits SADI client services
The Semo Alliance for Disability Independence Inc. will hold its annual benefit yard sale at 7 a.m. June 5, rain or shine. The yard sale will be at the SADI office. Proceeds will assist the client assistance services and transportation programs. Call 651-6464 for more information.
