SEMO's spring pageant benefits scholarship
Registration for the Southeast Spring Pageant, held by Southeast's Phi Beta Lambda Chapter, will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the University Center Ballroom. Categories range from girl walkers to 24 months, and up to age 18. Proceeds will benefit the Adam McGee Memorial Scholarship fund. Neighborhood watch group meets Thursday
The Neighborhood Connections group has a meeting planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 101 N. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau. Tim Morgan, director of inspection services, will speak at the meeting. Free HPV vaccine at EMAA Thursday
The East Missouri Action Agency's Women's Wellness Center will begin providing HPV vaccine to underinsured females 9 to 26 years of age, free of charge, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Clean up at Jackson Park Day April 28
Jackson Park Day begins at 8 a.m. April 28 at shelter No. 1 on Parkview Street in City Park. Participants will be offered a T-shirt, and lunch will be served at 11 a.m. at no charge. Individuals, service groups and community members are welcome to help clean and beautify the park. Outdoor living history class needs volunteers
A large encampment will be created at Jefferson Barracks for teaching children about the Civil War from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. May 1 to 4 at the 4th annual Civil War Days Educational Outreach program. The event will be held on military parade gounds directly in front of the future Civil War museum at Jefferson Barracks, 251 Cy Road 63125, end of South Broadway south of Kingston in south St. Louis County.
