AARP meeting topic is Cape's 200th birthday
The Cape Girardeau County Chapter of AARP No. 4041 will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. The program will be presented by Southeast Missouri State University professor Robert Hamblin.
A free satellite broadcast, "The Medicare Rx Plan: What it is and How it works" will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at 623 S. Silver Springs Road, Suite 519. Doors open at 6 p.m. Feb. 17 for the annual Notre Dame Regional High School trivia night in the cafetoria. There is a cost per contestant with tables limited to eight participants. For reservations or information, contact Becki Essner, 335-0862 or 335-6772.
An enrollment meeting for sixth-graders going into seventh grade will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Jackson Middle School gym. A 7 p.m. enrollment meeting for fifth-graders going into sixth grade will be held at the Jackson Middle School. There will be a parent meeting in the gym followed by an open house of the sixth-grade hall. Teachers will be present.
Local delegates for the 2006 Mrs. Missouri America Pageant and applications for Missouri Princess are being sought for the April 21 and 22 pageant in Chillicothe, Mo.
