Salvation Army baskets to be distributed today

The Salvation Army has announced that Christmas baskets will be distributed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. To receive the basket, bring your yellow slip or picture identification if you have lost the slip. For more information, call 335-7000.

Real estate agents donate to food pantry

Real estate agents from Prudential Bridgeport Inc. in Cape Girardeau responded to an article in the Southeast Missourian regarding the scarcity of food at local food pantries by making it a Thanksgiving project to help replenish the food supply. The project resulted in a contribution of about $1,000 in groceries to the Salvation Army's food pantry.

Net, computer classes at Riverside library

Introductory Internet training (for patrons wanting to use the library Internet for the first time) is held at 9 a.m. each Thursday and Saturday at 204 S. Union St. in Jackson.
