Mill reunion scheduled to be held in Jackson

The Jackson Hosiery Mill reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at Delmonico's restaurant in Jackson.

Teachers group holding program on fitness

This month's program of the Retired Teachers Association of Missouri is "Fitness Plus," presented by Saint Francis Medical Center. It will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Chateau Girardeau at 3120 Independence St. The Cape Girardeau unit of the Retired Teachers Association of Missouri meets on the first Wednesday, September through December; March through June. Nussbaum family reunion held at Tilsit

The annual Nussbaum family reunion was held July 25 at the Immanual Lutheran Church parish hall at Tilsit with 100 in attendance. Relatives came from the Missouri cities of Benton, Cape Girardeau, Chaffee, Jackson, Ironton, Marble Hill, Maryland Heights, Oak Ridge, Perryville, Pocohontas, Sedgewickville and St. Louis, as well as the Illinois cities of Belleville, Benton and Troy. Traveling the furthest were relatives from Norman, Okla. A basket dinner was held at noon. Door prizes along with a variety of special recognitions were given. Plans are already underway for the 2005 reunion, which is to be held July 31 at the parish hall.

Trinity card party to fund church projects

Trinity Lutheran Ladies' Senior Aid will sponsor a card party from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday in the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Room, 100 N. Frederick St. in Cape Girardeau. Participants should use the north entrance. Refreshments will be available, and attendance and table prizes will be awarded. Participants may bring their own group, men included. Proceeds will fund church-related projects. For more information, call 335-3476.

Dance and auction to benefit Alzheimer's victim

A benefit dance and auction will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Jackson. The event is to benefit Jerry Hinkebein, who has Alzheimer's disease. Individuals and businesses who wish to donate auction items may contact Leonard Adams at 243-2467.

Jackson chamber holding program at Bent Creek

The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will hold Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the banquet room at Bent Creek Golf Course. The event is being sponsored by the golf course and Atmos Energy.

Bloomfield class of 1947 holds reunion in Cape

Members of Bloomfield High School's class of 1947 held a reunion July 31 at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Classmates from the Missouri cities of Dexter, Jefferson City, St. Louis, Columbia, Wappapello, Poplar Bluff, Bernie and Cape Girardeau attended, as well as classmates from Memphis, Tenn., Collinsville, Ill., Peoria, Ill., and Fairfield Glade, Tenn. Classmates plan to meet in three years for their 60-year reunion.
