Eye Care For You recently donated The Stretch Station 3000 to the Jaycee Golf Course. The Stretch Station 3000 lets golfers warm up before playing and reduce their chances for injury.

Blood drive this week to help leukemia victim

Whole blood or platelet donations will be received for Helen Taylor, a leukemia victim, from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 20 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. Her illness and treatment result in a serious need for whole blood and platelet donations. Donating whole blood takes less than an hour. Donation of platelets takes about two hours.

State park rangers promote firearms safety

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' State Park Ranger Program will be distributing free gunlocks and safety education messages in Missouri state parks and historic sites. Developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, this effort is part of a nationwide program, Project ChildSafe. Gunlocks will be distributed while supplies last. Kick-off party being held for Memory Walk

To build enthusiasm and educate walkers on raising money, the Alzheimer's Association will hold a kick-off party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 29 at Joe Craig Photography Studio, 472 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
