Senior Administrative Law Judge Bill Hopkins of the Missouri Public Service Commission in Jefferson City has completed the "Managing the Complex Civil Case" course held July 12 to 16 at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nev.
Judges must handle long, protracted cases differently than ordinary proceedings. The course emphasized the judge's role in control and management of all aspects of the complex case. High technology shortcuts were explained, and recent case law developments in areas such as scientific and computer evidence were addressed.
Hopkins was also selected by the Public Service Commission to attend training in telecommunications law. This week-long session was sponsored by New Mexico State University in Albuquerque, N.M., in May.
