The presentation of the 2016 Spirit of America Award, the U.S. citizenship naturalization ceremony and other festivities scheduled in downtown Cape Girardeau this evening will be moved to the inside of the Common Pleas Courthouse because of the threat of inclement weather.
The ceremonies were scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. on the steps of the Common Pleas Courthouse, but scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast.
The fireworks display for the Great American Fourth of July Celebration in Cape Girardeau still is scheduled to occur about 9:15 p.m.
