The Youth Development Committee, under the Community Caring Council's Community Plan, will be introducing a nationally recognized initiative to the community.
Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth is a national initiative to unite communities for children and adolescents.
The Search Institute, an organization to promote healthy children and communities, will present the program "40 Development Assets" in Cape Girardeau and Jackson on Oct. 20.
A Search Institute representative will speak from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cape Girardeau Public Library and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Missouri Extension Office in Jackson.
The program will go over factors that are critical for young people's successful growth and development.
