COMMERCE -- The Commerce board of trustees will hold a public meeting Wednesday to discuss the federal flood insurance buyout program.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Commerce City Hall.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and National Flood Association officials will explain how the program works.
Ann Huck, chairman of the town board, said the meeting is open to anyone interested in learning about the buyout program.
Floodwaters this summer damaged streets and homes in the small town, situated along the Mississippi River in northern Scott County.
