Public comments about the 66 Corridor project, a proposed connection between Interstate 55 and Paducah, Ky., must be submitted at 66corridor.org or given to the Illinois Department of Transportation District 9 Office by the end of the day today.

The area being studied for the 66 Corridor project includes Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and western Kentucky.

A public meeting on the project was held July 24 at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill.

The study team and IDOT will continue meeting with the public, gathering information, responding to comments, developing a Citizen Advisory Group and initiating development of a project purpose and need, according to an IDOT pamphlet about the project. These events will carry the study into 2014.
