COMEDY KICKS OFF SEMO FUN

Laughter will be the main attraction during "Comedy Night at the Show Me Center," part of Family Weekend activities at Southeast Missouri State University Oct. 5-6.

Other Family Weekend activities include an open house in the residence halls at 9 a.m. Oct. 5, followed by Meet the President at 11 a.m. at Academic Auditorium.

The traditional picnic lunch on the terraces will be held at 12:15 p.m., and the Southeast football Indians take on the Samford University Bulldogs at 2 p.m. at Houck Stadium.

Comedy Night will feature college-circuit comedians Buzz Sutherland and Mary Rowles. Sutherland has gone from college student to professional comedian in four years and is best known for his catch phrase, "Bad day for Buzz."

Rowles is best known for her character impressions.

The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $3 for floor seats and $2 for riser seats. The ticket price includes popcorn and pretzels and there will be a cash bar available. Tickets are available at the Show Me Center or by phone at 651-5000.
