COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Columbia police have denied a parade and special event permit for Nov. 8 by the Missouri Chapter of the National Socialist Movement.
Police said that's the same day as the Missouri-Kansas State football game in Columbia and that the department would not have enough officers to patrol both events. The group had asked for a permit to stage a parade that would end at the Boone County Courthouse.
Interim police chief Tom Dresner said if the group wants to hold the parade on another date, members need to submit an additional application.
