Collision near Millersville injures child

An 8-year-old suffered moderate injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision on Cape Girardeau County Road 72 near Millersville, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Carlee Gibson of Marquand, Mo., was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital for treatment. She was riding at about 5:40 p.m. with Amy J. Gibson, 27, of Marquand, in a Jeep when their eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Ford traveling west. The driver of the Ford was Britney L. Reed, 20, of Vulcan, Mo.

Neither of the drivers was injured. No citations were issued, the patrol reported.
