John A. Logan, Rend Lake, Shawnee and Southeastern Illinois community colleges will jointly offer a one-year surgical technology certificate program.
The program will begin in with the fall 1999 semester.
The program will be administered by the Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market in Herrin, Ill. The four colleges, along with Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Edwardsville, are members of the organization.
The new program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to practice as certified surgical technologists. Enrollment information can be obtained by contacting any of the four community colleges.
