The Lamplighter Club met July 21 at the home of Karen Eaker. JoAnn Hahs, president, called the meeting to order. Jackie Kurre gave the devotion titled "Mysterious Ways."
The minutes from the June meeting were read and approved. Linda Sebaugh gave the treasurer's report.
Old business: Members discussed the yard sale that was to be held Aug. 13 at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
Thank-you notes were read from the Missouri Veterans Home for the club's monetary donation for the Fourth of July fireworks and from Brynn Myers for the donation to Girls State.
New business: Karen Eaker made a motion to collect items for Love Inc. of Southeast Missouri. The motion was seconded by Dodie Eisenhauer and the motion carried. There will be a more in-depth discussion regarding donations for Love Inc. at the August meeting. Hahs asked for suggestions for programs for 2016.
Linda Sebaugh gave the program, "Who gets grandma's yellow pie plate." Hahs gave Hearth Fire No. 61 and No. 34, which were on membership.
Members recognized July birthdays by singing "Happy Birthday" to Dodie Eisenhauer and Dorothy Hahs.
Refreshments were served and Teresa Heinkebin won the hostess gift.
Hahs will host the Aug. 18 club meeting in her home at 7 p.m.
