Dortha Strack was hostess for a pizza and dessert party when the Kage FCE met for their regular monthly at the Cape Girardeau County Extension office. The devotional, "People who make differences," was presented by Strack.
Before the meeting, Theresa Meier presented the program for the day, "Making Bread in a Bag."
Three 4-H members gave presentations: Josh Walther on curing pinkeye on cows; Belinda Strack on golden tips for show animals at the fair; and Anthony Strack on shotgun gauges.
Strack presided over a short business meeting following the programs.
She reported that 18 kids had attended Dortha's Clover Kids Camp earlier in the month.
Dortha's tip of the day: To avoid offensive odors in your refrigerator, put in a bowl of coffee grounds.
Barbara Marshall reported that Crystal Club, the eye glass cleaning project at The Lutheran Home, is being resumed. Several members will participate. More members are needed for this project and the time will be 1 p.m. Wednesday of each week.
Sarah Ross reminded members to send their monthly cards to their "pal" at the Fountainbleau Lodge.
The next autism workshop will be held Oct. 30 and will be a Halloween costume event.
Kara Clark Summers will be hostess for the next meeting on Thursday.
