Jackson VFW Auxiliary
The Jackson Memorial VFW Auxiliary 10495 met July 10 at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson with Pauline Nitsch presiding.
Scholarships were presented to Kacey Shultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Shultz, and Kelsie Birk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Birk. Both are 2008 graduates of Jackson High School.
The quilt the auxiliary made was on display at the meeting. The quilt will be the first prize in the raffle drawing at the Veteran Breakfast in November.
Cancer chairwoman Colette Garland handed out pamphlets on cancer facts for women and collected the monthly donations.
Membership chairwoman Becky Klob reported that annual dues are now due. She also reminded members that cancer grants are not given if dues are not current.
Trustee Betty Hahs reported the audit was performed and the books are in order. A motion to accept the audit was carried.
The next meeting will be Aug. 14 at the library.
