Holloway announced there will be an executive meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cape Girardeau Public Library to plan next year activities and nominate officers.

Plans are being made to rededicate the DAR plaque which hung in the old post office on Broadway since 1924 until torn down to make way for the Federal Building in its place. The plaque will now be installed in the Rush H. Limbaugh United States Courthouse in the atrium area on Independence Street at 1:30 p.m. April 25. The Revolutionary War soldiers named on the plaque, ones known of at that time, are Christopher Hayes, Robert Brevard, Ithamar Hubble, Stephen Ranney, Thomas Hill, Alexander McLain, Uriah Brock and John Walker.

The history of each name is going to be shared and all descendants of these heroes are invited to attend the ceremonies. There will be a reception following the ceremony and a guide will be available to give tours of the courthouse. City dignitaries are to be invited.

Nancy Hunter Chapter will be attending the Immigration and Nationalization Ceremonies at 10 a.m. May 1 at the Rush H. Limbaugh Courthouse to present each new citizen with a lapel pin.

The end of year luncheon will be held at noon May 25 at Cape Girardeau Country Club where chapter awards will be given out.
