Lamplighters FCE

The Lamplighters FCE Club met Nov. 16 at the home of Bev Meyer. Linda Freeman gave a report on those who quilted a fund-raiser bed covering. JoAnn Hahs, president, spoke about taking dolls for Child Advocacy Day to the District Meeting Oct. 24.

Guest Bonnie Bollinger and her daughter, Ashley, demonstrated and helped members decorate Christmas candles.

Members filled baskets with sundry gift items to give away.

The next meeting will be Dec. 21 at the home of Judy Myers.

Hobbs Chapel UMW

The Rosemary and Oma Brooks Circle of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Women met Nov. 13 at the church. Michele Moon, director of Birthright, presented the program. She explained the merit of Birthright and what it does for the community. Members presented several layette gifts to Birthright and each of the circles made a cash donation.

Donations to the World Thank Offering were accepted. The funds are used in the total program of mission.

The circles also voted to make donations to FISH, The Salvation Army, Safe House for Women and Delmo Wardrobe.

The next meeting will be the Christmas party at the home of Chris Simmons. The Rosemary and Oma circles will again combine their meetings. Members attending should bring an unwrapped toy for Toybox and an anonymous wrapped gift to exchange.

St. Mary CCW

The St. Mary Council of Catholic Women met Nov. 16 in the Monsignor Huels room. Pat Ef-tink, treasurer, distributed copies of the annual and the current reports. Funds will be donated for altar supplies. Dolores Gibbar reported two bereavement dinners had been served.

All members are invited to the Christmas celebration 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Monsignor Huels room.

Young Americans 4-H

The Young Americans 4-H Club met Nov. 16 at Grace United Methodist Church with Clint Heuer presiding. Haley Ehlers and Belinda Strack led songs. Tori Schweer and B.J. Heuer led games. Hunter Rubel and Claire Illers led pledges.

There were illustrated talks given by Clint Heuer on shooting sports and by Illers on 25 commons mistakes in interior decorating. Lydia Cameron presented information on the state mineral.

As part of the program, end-of-year awards were presented. The following members won medals for their project reports forms: Leslie Birk, horses; Cameron, cake decorating, clothing, and knitting; Ehlers, arts and crafts; Illers, clothing; Tricia Kirchdoerfer, arts and crafts and dairy; Tyler Kirchdoerfer, dairy, field crops, food; Becca Ray, dogs; Shelby Ray, guinea pigs and rabbits; Rubel, beef; Zach Schneider, computers and woodworking; Gary Schweer, rabbits and woodworking; Tori Schweer, clowning, food, and rabbits; Julia Weber, clowning; and Michael Weber, woodworking.

Two members gave demonstrations at the Missouri State Fair: Brett Hunter, gardening; and Clint Heuer, gardening.

The following membership pins were given out: Clover Kids: Anthony Strack, first year; Ian Cameron, second year; Nathan Schneider, third year; Belinda Strack, third year.

First year: Austin Cook, Haley Ehlers and Becca Ray.

Second year: Lydia Cameron and Kathy Scienski.

Third year: B.J. Heuer, Tyler Kirchdoerfer, Shelby Ray, Hunter Rubel, Zachary Schneider and Gavin Seyer.

Fourth year: Gary Schweer.

Fifth year: Clint Heuer, Tricia Kirchdoerfer and Julia Weber.

Sixth year: Leslie Birk, Claire Illers, Tori Schweer.

Seventh year: Michael Weber.

The club will sing Christmas carols at The Lutheran Home before the next meeting. Members are asked to bring donations of canned and non-perishable foods to the meeting.
