Town and Country FCE

The Town and Country FCE Club met Nov. 8, at the Pie Safe in Pocahontas. Lois Seabaugh was in charge of arrangements. The devotion, "Thanksgiving" was given by the hostess. Pennies for "coins for friendship" were collected. Thank-you notes were read from Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center, the Lutheran Home and the Salvation Army.

Mary Klaproth, president, presided over the business meeting. She announced Halloween treat sacks were delivered to Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center and Bingo prizes to the Lutheran Home. The club will donate $25 to the Salvation Army Tree of Lights. Sue Jones mailed the cards for the Military Mail project. Klaproth announced that at the Cape Girardeau County workday a total of 25 blankets and 13 lap pads were made and delivered Oct. 31 to TouchPoint Autism Center.

The Dec. 6 FCE Council meeting was discussed with Joyce King, Linda Thompson and Jones furnishing desserts for the meeting. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting starting at 10 a.m. Members attending are to bring an item for the silent auction.

King presented the program on "household hints." In addition, all members participated in the discussion of the new "Hearth Fire #51, Loving the Men in Your Life...Understanding How to Keep Them Healthy."

Members brought toys for the Jackson Jaycee toy drive to the meeting to be delivered at a later date.

Thompson made arrangements for the club's Christmas Party to be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Pagoda Gardens. Members should bring candy for treat sacks for the students at Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center and their secret pal gifts. King will install the officers at the meeting.

John Guild Chapter NSAR

The John Guild Chapter, National Society of the American Revolution held its October meeting at its regular meeting room above the Jackson City Library. Hostesses were Patsy Beasley and Jan Chamberlain.

The program, Missouri Caucus System, was presented by Scott Clark, Cape Girardeau County recorder of deeds.

The next meeting will be at Delmonico's in Jackson and the program will introduce the Good Citizens candidates from four area schools.
