VFW Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 3838 met Thursday with Judy Thrower, president, presiding. Membership chairwoman Glenneta Vogelsang reminded all members to pay dues by Dec. 15.
General orders and communications were read by Jane Jenkins, secretary. Deborah Griffin, Voice of Democracy chairwoman, announced the winners of the Voice of Democracy contest: Justin Voss, first; Heather Hileman, second; and Chris Griffith, third.
Patriot's Pen chairwoman Judy Biester, announced the winners of the Patriot's Pen contest: William Shell, first; Brittany Burnett, second; and Chad Strong, third.
Jewell Lincecum announced bingo at the Missouri Veterans Home will be held on Dec. 11 and volunteers are needed.
There will be no steak night during December and January. The next steak night will be the first Saturday of February.
A chili day will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the VFW Hall. Members were asked to donate pies and cakes. Also, crafts are needed for the Country Store.
There will be a children's Christmas party from 2 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the VFW Hall.
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9. This will be the auxiliary Christmas party. Members are asked to bring a $5 gift and a covered dish. Phyllis Dodds and Sandi Goodheart will take care of the decorations. Also, members were asked to bring Christmas cards to be given to the veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home.
