At the last chapter meeting of John Guild Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Morgan Meyr Lake was nominated to stand for election as Missouri state regent.
She is currently serving as state vice regent. She has served as state recording secretary and state treasurer. She has served the chapter as regent, vice regent, registrar and historian. Lake was selected as Missouri Outstanding Junior in 2004. She has been state chairman of Junior Membership and Americanism Committees. She is a member of State Officers Club, Chapter Regents Club (past president) and Cameo Society (current president).
At the national level, Morgan serves as national vice chairman of NSDAR School Tour, member NSDAR long range planning commission, and national adviser to junior membership committee. She has served as national chairman junior membership, national vice chairman junior shoppe, member Founders Club, Heritage Club, Vice Regents Club, and National Chairman Association. She currently serves as treasurer of the National Outstanding Junior Club.
The election will be held at the state conference in May in Columbia. She will be installed in July at the national conference in Washington, DC.
Also nominated was Lorilee Petrich Short who will stand for election at the state conference. She has served the chapter as regent, vice regent, recording secretary and currently serves as corresponding secretary.
Short is state chairman of President General's Project. She has served as Southeast District director, state conference co-chairman, vice chairman junior membership contest, vice chairman revitalization, chapter development and revitalization commission, member Chapter Regents Club (vice president).
The election will be held at the state conference and she will be installed at the conclusion of the conference.
The nominator was chapter membership chairman Linda Schlamer Hutson. The decision was a unanimous vote.
John Guild Chapter will mark its 100th anniversary in March. This will be the first time a member of the chapter will serve as state regent.
