Dennis Hale, the wastewater treatment coordinator for the city of Cape Girardeau, has been awarded a life membership certificate for the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference.

To obtain life membership status, an individual must have been an active member of the MWWC for 25 consecutive years.

Hale has worked for the city for 25 years and has worked closely with the development and function of the wastewater treatment plant.

He serves as the secretary/treasurer of the southeast section of the MWWC. In April, he was awarded the 2002 chairman's award, given in recognition of outstanding interest and involvement in southeast section.

The MWWC was established in 1925 to serve the needs of water and wastewater system operators throughout the state by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas through meetings, conferences and training programs.
