NEW MADRID, Mo. - Like many communities across the nation, New Madrid is looking for ways to cut costs yet continue to serve its residents. The City Council has decided on one step.
Beginning July 6, the approximately 35 city employees will embark on a four-day work week, working 10 hour days. It will be a trial continued through Daylight Saving Time, ending Oct. 31.
